The 10th Commandment

10. You do not covet your neighbour's house, you do not covet your neighbour's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, or whatever belongs to your neighbour.

The final and 10th commandment is to do with the mind. It forbids lusting after another man's possessions, money or lifestyle. Coveting is seeing something with your eyes and desiring to have it, though it doesn't belong to you. It is a worldly sin.
Advertising uses this nature of coveting to sell their products. They convince you that you need it and that you want it. You didn't even know that you needed or wanted their product until they explain to you that your life will be better when you buy and use their products.

Coveting leads to discontentment with what you have, and leads to more coveting. Those who keep on coveting what they do not have are always seeking to get more and more. And they certainly don't have the contentment and peace which trust in YaHuWaH brings.

Coveting or lusting after your neighbour's wife in your mind and heart is strictly forbidden. So even pondering the act of adultery, is the same as performing the sin of adultery. This is confirmed in:

Matthew Chapter 5 Verse 28

"But I say to you that everyone looking at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

Our trust in YaHuWaH brings us to a place of contentment in Him, irrespective of what we do or do not possess...
