For most of us, it may be quite easy to say those three little words, "I love you", to the people who are nearest and dearest to us. They slip off the tongue quite easily, and in our minds and emotions we believe that we truly love the person we have said it to. It is, however, a known fact that just saying these words does not really prove that we love that person. We prove that we love that person in our actions rather than in our words (actions speak louder than words).
The Hebrew word for 'love' is 'ahav', and it goes much deeper than a simple emotion or words. The word 'ahav' means 'to provide and protect what is given as a privileged gift.' This means that we are to love not in an emotional sense but in our actions.
The natural response of the heart that feels loved is to demonstrate love in return by actions. The person that loves YaHuWaH longs to show love in return, and it becomes the most natural thing in the world to obey our heavenly Father.
"If you love me, you will guard my commands."
"He who possesses my commands and guards (keeps/does) them, it is he who loves me. And He who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and manifest myself to Him."
"As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Stay in My love. If you guard My commands you shall stay in My love, even as I have guarded My Father's commands and stay in His love."
"And this is His command; that we should believe in the name of His Son Yahushua the Messiah and love one another as He commanded us, and the one guarding His commands stays in Him, and He in him."
YaHuWaH shows us that He loves us through His provision, protection and His faithfulness to us. He sent the gift of His Son so that anyone who falls into immorality and sin that believes in Him and follows His teachings can be delivered from the chains of darkness and have the blessings of light and life, and life eternal. The gift of salvation is not something that happens as soon as we say we believe, or say a prayer, or put our hands up in a church service.
Salvation comes when we stand before our Creator, YaHuWaH, on that great day of judgement of our souls. If we say that we love and believe in YaHuWaH's son Yahushua, we must also do it in action. It is not enough just to confess or say that we believe and love Yahushua; we must do it in our actions and be faithful to Him. Obedience to all of YaHuWaH's commandments in His Torah that pertain to our lives is the natural response of a heart that is filled with love for the Father.
We obey His commandments just like Yahushua did. Which commands? The Torah, consisting of the first five books of scripture, contains the ten commandments of Love and other significant commands for our lives. This includes the feasts and holidays YaHuWaH instituted in the Books of Exodus, Deuteronomy & Leviticus.
YaHuWaH gave us the commandments at Mount Sinai, which are a collection of instructions based on love, justice, and cleanliness. They teach us the greatest way to live in this world and are given to us for our protection since they sustain life, bestow blessings on us, and secure our souls with light while shielding us from the darkness that surrounds us.
We may think we know and keep the commands because we keep some of the ten commandments set out in Exodus 20. We might not murder or steal, but you may be surprised at your perceptions of some of the others. It is a tragedy that coveting, sexual immorality, idolatry, and not honouring the Sabbath are so rife in the West, which was once a bastion of Christendom.
The Sabbath is a sign between us and our Creator. Sunday does not fall on the Sabbath. It's Saturday. Constantine was the one who altered the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday (click here
for more information).
When someone says, "Well, I keep the 10 commandments," are they truly? Most Christians are essentially breaking the Sabbath on the seventh day. In addition to the above and eating unclean foods, many believers disregard the other crucial instructions included in the Torah and do not keep YaHuWaH's feast days. James says in:
"For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it."
"And by this we know that we know Him, if we guard His commandments. The one who says, 'I know (believe in) Him,' and does not guard His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in Him. But whoever guards His word, truly the LOVE of the Almighty has been perfected in him. The one who stays in Him ought himself also to walk, even as He walked."
As simple as it may seem, the scriptures teach us that our love for YaHuWaH is demonstrated
by keeping His commandments. Out of the ten commandments of love, the first four tell us how to show our love to YaHuWaH, and the last six tell us how to show love to the people around us. The directions written in the Torah show us how to live and behave towards YaHuWaH and towards others and also set out right rulings and justice in moral and legal matters.
Some of the Torah's instructions are specific to women, while others are specific to men, farmers, the Levitical priesthood, and temple duty. As a result, we only need to feel obligated to follow the commandments that are relevant to our personal lives and social roles.
Keeping the commandments in the Torah and walking in YaHuWaH's ways is the fruit which identifies and proves real love. What do our actions say? Do they say, "I love you"?

The feasts or holidays in the Bible are also integrated into the commandments and are rich with incredibly interesting information and symbolism. Along with our Creator's calendar, they are given to us for guidance and wisdom.
Unfortunately, religious movements have tended to either distort or neglect this wisdom, to their own detriment. However, our Creator always preserves His truth for us, and with just a little passionate seeking, we can easily discover these heavenly treasures that are to be found within His Word.
Join us as we explore the many fascinating elements of our Creator's calendar, which He expertly synced with the natural world for us. Additionally, we shall learn about His designated feast and commemoration days, which our Messiah represents and that we are obligated to honour.
