There is much controversy surrounding when a day actually starts. In Judaism, most Jews traditionally start their day at sunset when the sun has gone down. Across the world, traditionally a day starts at midnight. It is important to know when a day starts so that we are able to correctly observe YahuWaH's instructions. Let's see what scripture has to say on the matter:
Genesis Chapter 1 Verses 1 - 6 states:
1. In the beginning, the Almighty created the heavens and the earth.
2. And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of the Almighty was moving on the face of the waters.
3. And the Almighty said, "Let light come to be," and light came to be.
4. And the Almighty saw the light, that it was good. And the Almighty separated the light from the darkness.
5. And the Almighty called the light 'day', and the darkness He called 'night'.
And there came to be evening, and there came to be morning, the first day.
